We came here on their last night of service before the place officially closed for good. It was actually my first time. I had heard from several people that their happy hour was the best in town. 5$ cava glasses, 3$ draft beers and cheap wells. We shared a few apps, as they had sold out on white a few things. Their last night they had 50% off alcohol. Apprently they were losing money fast. The wait staff thought that it could have been because of a heating issue during restaurant week, or because they lost too much money on their happy hour. It's too bad, it was a really lovely dining experience and food was decent.
Loved my time on their beautiful, shady patio! We got there for their happy hour, which starts at 2 PM, extra bonus! The food was really good. The hummus was my favorite, and the crème brûlée was also delicious. I would pass on the pork sliders Next time, and try something else. The selection and beer selection is really strong and I look forward to coming back.
I found this place for our July book club meeting when searching for brunch places near the plaza. We ended up going for dinner and I am not mad about it. Love the whole old Hollywood, CA vibe. They advertise Modern American Cuisine but had a variety of flavors. We shared "snacks" of Moroccan meatballs, salmon spin dip and bread with honey butter. All fantastic. Loved the chips they served with the sound up and the red sauce with the meatballs was amazing. For dinner, I had the Re-verse Greek chicken wrapped in prosciutto, another lady ordered crab cakes and our third ordered lobster Mac n cheese, (which was surprisingly a little bland but with some salt still good) the espresso martini was phenomenal and I had a mocktail that they loving added kettle one to for me, it consisted of beet, cucumber and some other juices which made it super refreshing. Such a cool spot located on the corner with indoor and outdoor seating. Cute vintage blue van parked outside helps with the theme. I didn't even realize until I was leaving the live musician. They had a nice bar and the wait staff were super friendly and attentive! I will definitely come back again! (Little pricey, but worth it!)
Came in on a Tuesday for my daughter's birthday. 1/2 priced bottles of wine and they were reasonably priced to begin with. Had the pimento cheese bites which were yummy. Daughter had the lobster mac and cheese and loved it. I had the little pig little pig sandwich and it was very yummy. Comped a birthday dessert. Will be back!
This place looks very unassuming. There's a nice patio out front and just an incredibly beautiful bar and homey decor in the restaurant. I love the artwork. The waitstaff was super friendly and efficient. They have good happy hour menu $20 including tio split between two people; two appetizers and 2 cocktails. I will definitely be back to try a few other things including dinner.
I like blue Hwy. it's in a great location, they have a good HH, and service is good. It's one of those spots that can easily become a go to.
I am always looking for different Happy Hours throughout the city, and luckily, a co- worker arranged for our team to check out Blu Hwy. Conveniently located off 50th & Main. In waking distance from the Plaza library, this restaurant offers a very chill and laid-back happy hour vibe. There was the option for patio dining, which is always nice to have when the weather is between spring and summer. But also offered plenty of tables and booths inside. The Happy Hour menu has enough variety to options to cater to different tastes buds, but I think my favorites were the fried pimento cheese bites with the tomato jam. They were perfectly fried, the pimento cheese tasted fresh, and the tomato jam was different but seemed to compliment it well. The fries were just ok, but the garlic aioli was great for their dipping. I didn't partake in the hummus as it's not my preference. However, my co-workers said it was just as delicious. Great spot to stop in after work for a few hours with friends, co-workers, or even a date night. Wasn't too busy when we arrived, which made it easy to get in and seated. Service was quick and very attentive. It's worth checking it out. I plan to go back for dinner and try other menu items for sure.
I'd been wanting to try this place forever and since I was in the area decided to stop in. I was a little bummed that it was still brunch since I was really wanting to try some of their appetizers, but rolled with it. Got the Big Red cheeseburger and a Mule Variatons drink and both were fantastic! The burger was just a straightforward burger, but was perfectly done and was juicy and delicious. I would really give this 4-1/2 stars, as my only knock was the value- $21 for a burger and fries is a bit higher than the normal. I do plan on coming back for happy hour soon to try a more extended menu! I'm guessing it will let me up this to a 5-star review because the food really was great!
Would give 4.5 for now. Went for brunch Atmosphere: A+ cute winter decor up. Bar and interior decor is good Service: amazing customer service and quick quick food. Like ten minutes quick. Food: great food. The fries are amazing. They are shoe string and white balsamic vinaigrette fry so think sweet savory not salty savory. The burger was small for the price but delicious. The fried pimento cheese was delicious. We will be back to try happy hour and update then. Thanks
